Ukrainian refugee Sofiia Karkadym turned up at court 24 hours after a judge issued a warrant following her non-appearance on charges of assaulting a policeman.

Karkadym, 23, made headlines round the planet after running off with dad-of-two Tony Garnett, 30, after he and his partner Lorna, 29, gave her a home when the war with Russia started.

The blonde with her hair tied up, wearing black leather trousers and a black jacket with white shirt and white trainers, gave a MailOnline photographer outside Bradford Magistrates Court a single finger sign in disapproval of him taking photographs.

Karkadym was staying at her ex’s flat on Grape Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire when PC Andrew Jordinson and colleagues attended the property ahead of the alleged assault.

During the visit PC Jordinson was allegedly bitten and Karkadym was charged with a Section 39 Assault and a Section 1 Assault on an emergency worker.

A full 24 hours after her court date was due, Karkadym now represented by counsel Molly Briggs was told by court staff that District Judge Alex Boyd wanted her to answer to the warrant at a police station.

She had flown back to the UK to attend the case , but is believed to have encountered travel delays on the railways.

On Monday at Bradford Magistrates Court District Judge Boyd issued a warrant without bail after Karkadym’s barrister Celine Khan that day told the court she had not arrived.

Her ex-lover Tony was spotted outside the court that afternoon, but there was no sign of Karkadym until today.
